When the lights came on for Week 1, the Prototype Academy athletes didn’t just show up—they took over. From high school to CEGEP, our linebackers were relentless, flying to the football, shutting down drives, and proving that the hard work behind the scenes translates directly to results on the field.
Week 1 wasn’t just about numbers; it was about milestones, first starts, and building on legacies. These are the athletes who stood above the rest and embodied the Prototype Standard.
High School Linebackers: Emerging Stars

Victor Dionne – Jean-Eudes | Secondary 4 | First Year Juvenile | 17 Tackles | 1 Pass Breakup | 1 Fumble Recovery
In his first year at the juvenile level, Dionne wasted no time making his mark at Jean-Eudes.
He finished with 17 tackles, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery—an all-around performance that showcased his impact.
What stood out most was his quickness and strong instincts, allowing him to read plays before they developed and fly to the football.
For a player just entering this stage of competition, his composure and production were remarkable.
Ulysses Voutous – Collège Bourget | Secondary 5 | First Career Start | 12 Tackles | 3 Tackles for Loss | 1 Sack
Voutous’ first-ever start at Collège Bourget could not have gone any better.
He didn’t miss a single tackle all game, proving himself as a reliable anchor for his defense. Whether it was securing open-field tackles against shifty ball carriers or blowing up plays as a blitzer, he showed poise well beyond his experience.
With 12 tackles, three for loss, and a sack, Voutous delivered a statement performance that set the tone for his senior year. He’s not just filling a role—he’s establishing himself as a playmaker.
Kevny Castin – Calixa-Lavallée | Secondary 5 | 6 Tackles | 2 TFL | 1 Sack | 1 INT | 1 Forced Fumble | 1 Touchdown
Castin put together one of the most complete defensive performances in Quebec.
Representing Calixa-Lavallée, he filled up the stat sheet—stuffing the run, generating pressure, forcing turnovers, and even scoring.
This comes as no surprise, considering that last season he recorded 3 defensive touchdowns and 4 interceptions, building a reputation as one of the most dangerous playmakers in the province.
In Week 1, he reminded everyone why opposing offenses must always account for him.
CEGEP Linebackers: Veterans Making Noise

Emil Poulard – Vanier College | 3rd Year | 17 Tackles | 1 TFL
The reigning leading tackler in CEGEP Division 1 last season, Poulard picked up right where he left off.
His 17 tackles in Week 1 proved once again why he’s considered the most active linebacker in the league.
A relentless presence with elite instincts, Poulard consistently finds himself around the football, making him the heartbeat of Vanier’s defense.
Gabriel Andre – Champlain-Lennoxville | 3rd Year | 15 Tackles | 1 Sack | 1 TFL
Andre’s Week 1 performance was a statement. In his third year at Champlain-Lennoxville, he was physical on every tackle, setting the tone with his toughness and explosiveness.
His 15 tackles, paired with a sack and a tackle for loss, reflect his complete game.
But it’s his versatility—being able to defend the run, rush the passer, and drop into coverage—that makes him stand out even more.
Andre is establishing himself as the best linebacker in CEGEP, and Week 1 was just the beginning of what promises to be a dominant season.
Rayann Payep – CNDF | 3rd Year | 7 Tackles | 1 Interception | 1 Sack
Payep was the best player on the field on both sides of the ball in Week 1. At CNDF, he showed up in every critical moment—making an interception, adding a sack, and consistently shutting down plays with his presence.
Beyond the stat sheet, he delivered key momentum-changing plays that swung the game.
Entering his third year, Payep is not just a proven playmaker; he’s expected to be one of the top linebackers in all of CEGEP this season.
More Than Numbers
What makes Week 1 so special isn’t just the stats—it’s the stories behind them.
From Ulysses’ flawless tackling in his first-ever start at Collège Bourget, to Victor bursting onto the scene in his first juvenile season with his quickness and instincts, to Kevny continuing his legacy as a turnover machine, to Emil once again proving he’s the most active linebacker in Division 1, to Andre showing both physicality and versatility as he establishes himself as the best linebacker in CEGEP, and Payep dominating both sides of the ball while cementing himself as one of the league’s elite—this is what the Prototype Academy is built for.
Every athlete who stepped on the field carried months of preparation, grit, and discipline, and it showed in the way they dominated.
The Prototype Academy isn’t just producing players; it’s producing leaders, playmakers, and tone-setters.
What’s Next
Week 2 is here, and expectations have only grown. If Week 1 was any indication, we’re only scratching the surface of what these athletes can accomplish. More big hits, more statement performances, and more athletes ready to show why they are the standard.
The bar has been set. Now it’s time to raise it again.
